Milan is considering a move to re-sign Brahim Díaz as they search for a new attacking midfielder, with Rafael Leão‘s uncertain future dominating their summer plans.
As reported by CalcioMercato.com, citing the Corriere della Sera, Milan has earmarked Brahim for the trequartista role after missing out on Greek teenager Konstantinos Karetsas, who transferred to Borussia Dortmund for €33 million. Arsenal‘s Ethan Nwaneri and Roma’s Matías Soulé are also under consideration.
A return for Brahim would rejoin the Spanish-born Morocco international with a club where he had a successful stint from 2020 to 2023, making 124 appearances, scoring 18 goals, assisting 15, and playing a key role in Milan’s 2022 Scudetto victory.
Brahim is still under contract with Real Madrid until 2027, and Juventus had shown interest before shifting focus to Bayer Leverkusen’s Kerim Alajbegović.
Increasing speculation suggests Leão may remain at Milan, as Fenerbahçe has yet to convince him to leave.

Leão’s Future is a Key Concern for Milan
However, the pressing issue is the future of Rafael Leão, with the Portugal forward indicating he feels his seven-year tenure is coming to an end.
Although he initially preferred a move to the Premier League or La Liga, the lack of offers has prompted him to consider a potential transfer to Turkey.
Galatasaray is reportedly set to make an approach, and unlike Fenerbahçe, they are already assured of a place in the Champions League group stage.
Leão is open to this opportunity but is seeking a substantial salary to facilitate the move. Meanwhile, Milan would prefer a permanent sale, which means there is still a significant gap between the player’s wage requirements and the two clubs’ positions.
