Codie Thomas, a 19-year-old defender, has spent the last ten years at Manchester City, having joined their academy at the age of nine. She successfully progressed through the ranks and made her first-team debut under former manager Gareth Taylor during the 2024/2025 season, accumulating four senior appearances with The Cityzens to date.

On the international front, Thomas has represented England at the Under-19 level.

Upon joining Nottingham Forest on loan, Thomas expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m really excited to be here and to get started.”

“Last season, I played in the SWPL with Glasgow City, which taught me a lot as it was my first time living away from home. Coming here now feels like a fantastic opportunity that I’m eager to embrace.”

“When the chance to join Forest arose, I spoke with Tom [Mallinson], and his vision, ambition, and drive really impressed me, making my decision straightforward. It’s a thrilling time to be joining the club.”

“I’ve always had a passion for the defensive aspect of the game, and I believe my skills in one-on-one defending and my speed are two of my greatest assets. I also enjoy pushing forward to contribute with assists and, hopefully, score some goals as well.”

Thomas becomes Nottingham Forest’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
