Multiple Serie A clubs are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario, who is actively looking to leave the London club.
Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported new insights regarding the situation, indicating that the Italian goalkeeper is Juventus’ top choice for their upcoming signing, particularly as a move for Dibu Martinez seems highly unlikely.
They also provided context about Vicario’s situation, highlighting Roberto De Zerbi’s earlier remarks about speaking with several Tottenham players in April, especially those looking for summer transfers. De Zerbi encouraged them to finish the season strongly, which would better position them for exits.
A few weeks ago, the Italian stated: “To those who asked me to leave, I told them to help me save the team, and then I would assist them in leaving. I have never pressured anyone to stay this summer. I respect the decisions of individuals such as Romero and Vicario.”
Keeper’s Desire to Depart in 2025
Moreover, it has been reported that Vicario intended to leave Tottenham last summer, even if the English side had won the Europa League in 2025. By that time, a rift had developed in his relationship with the club, and he became increasingly certain of his decision as the 2025/26 season unfolded.
