We want to hear your thoughts on Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans, who is reportedly in advanced discussions for a transfer to Manchester United.
Here are some of your comments:
Mark: Losing Tielemans would be a significant setback for Villa due to his consistent performance. His collaboration with Boubacar Kamara is vital for progressing the ball forward, often contributing to Villa’s counter-attacks and set-piece opportunities. This would be a big loss after a strong season.

Rob: Tielemans had mixed results at Leicester, but under Unai Emery, he has become a crucial asset. With Kamara needing rehabilitation time and Amadou Onana being out, and John McGinn possibly nearing retirement, it looks concerning.
Simon: This would be a major setback. He’s probably our most reliable midfielder, and his presence positively impacts the team. That said, clearing his likely high wages could also benefit the club and help refresh the squad’s age profile.
Kelvin: The departure of Tielemans is unfortunate but manageable. If we bring in Johan Manzambi, who is nine years younger, it could work out. The profit from Tielemans’ transfer helps financially, especially as Villa needs to manage its budget prudently. If letting him go means keeping Morgan Rogers for at least another season, it makes sense.
Mike: This would be a significant loss. Tielemans was integral to much of Villa’s last season’s success. I find release clauses nonsensical; clubs shouldn’t offer them. Players should either commit to their contracts or not.

Dan: If Tielemans transfers, I wish him the best. We brought him in for free, and while he had a slow start, he’s now key to our midfield and overall game style. He played a pivotal role in the Europa League final. Although I’d be disappointed if he leaves, I understand it’s due to circumstances beyond our control. UTV.
Ryan: I’m really upset about this. Although others may mention factors like age, profile, and salary, he is the one who keeps the team functioning. Can we consider Lucas Bergvall as a potential replacement?
