West Ham condemn divisive…

West Ham has called on fans to eliminate an “offensive and divisive” chant that surfaced during their opening Championship match against Burnley.

The club is aware of a chant aimed at winger Manor Solomon, which features an “anti-Palestine message” and was reportedly sung by some away supporters at Turf Moor during last Sunday’s 2-2 draw.

Solomon, who recently joined from Tottenham, previously spent time on loan at Fulham and Leeds.

In a statement released prior to West Ham’s first home match of the Championship season against Charlton this Saturday, the club emphasized the importance of representing the club positively and stated that “every supporter is an ambassador.”

The club further remarked: “Every supporter, regardless of their background, should be able to enjoy the matchday experience without fear, discrimination, or abuse. We are dedicated to ensuring that all fans feel safe, respected, and included.”

“We recognize that singing and chanting are integral parts of the matchday atmosphere.”

“We encourage our fans to cheer loudly and proudly for their club and the players in claret and blue, but never in a manner that fosters division or offends fellow supporters.”

At 27 years old, Solomon has represented Israel 49 times and celebrated three titles during his tenure at Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine before loan spells at Fulham and Leeds, where he contributed to their Championship victory in the 2024-25 season.
