French international Lucas Digne has finalized his transfer from Aston Villa to European champions Paris St-Germain.
The 33-year-old left-back has signed a three-year contract at the Parc des Princes.
Digne, who moved to Villa from Everton in 2022, began his professional career at PSG, where he spent three years.
He returns to the club after an eight-year stint in England, as PSG activated a £8.5 million release clause in his contract.
“I am extremely honored to return to Paris St-Germain after the wonderful experience I had here more than ten years ago,” Digne stated. “I am particularly impressed by the club’s development over the years.”
Digne will compete with first-choice left-back Nuno Mendes for a starting position.
He joins a PSG squad that has claimed the Champions League title in consecutive seasons, with their latest victory coming against Arsenal in penalties during the 2026 final.
Digne made 30 appearances for PSG during his first term before transferring to Barcelona in 2016.
The left-back played a pivotal role in Aston Villa’s Europa League triumph last season, marking the club’s first major trophy since 1996.
He becomes the third notable departure from Villa Park this season, following the transfers of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and Youri Tielemans to Manchester United.
